What Would Your Life Look Like If Nothing Held You Back?

The problem with self-limiting beliefs is that they can be sneaky.  Often we aren’t even aware that these negative ideas are lurking in the shadows. Other times we are aware of them but don’t yet recognise what they really are – roadblocks that hold us from accessing our true power.

We are all born confident but somewhere along the way, we picked up some negative beliefs about feeling unworthy, about not being good enough no matter how accomplished or educated we become.  All that self-criticism, all that doubt.  It lingers within us – affecting us every day.  

Science shows us that as much as 95% of what we do as adults is dictated by subconscious patterns learned when we were children.  

These are some examples and should give you an idea of what I am talking about.  Many are phrases we’ve heard for so many years we don’t even question whether they’re true or not, or if there might be some underlying negative meaning.  

  • Money is the root of all evil 
  • Money doesn’t grow on trees 
  • Life isn’t easy
  • It’ selfish to put my own needs before those of my family and friends
  • I’m not self-confident 
  • I’m not outgoing enough 
  • I wouldn’t know where to start 
  • You can’t have your cake and eat it too
  • You can be rich, or you can be happy 

Overcoming limiting beliefs sounds simple enough but since many of our beliefs are rooted in childhood we’ve been subject to years and years of negative mental programming.

Imagine how easy it would be to get to where you want in life if you weren’t carrying around all those limiting beliefs.

I have found that understanding how the subconscious mind works, identifying when we formed those beliefs, using positive self-talk are all extremely important in overcoming self-limiting beliefs
